New ADIC of WFO

New ADIC of WFO

Washington, D.C., August 10, 2015

FBI Director James Comey  has asked Washington Field Office Assistant Director In Charge (ADIC) Andrew McCabe to become the new Associate Deputy Director of the FBI.  The Associate Deputy Director is the #3 position in the FBI at Headquarters.

We are very disappointed that ADIC McCabe will be leaving us so soon, but he will do great things in his new position to improve the business practices of our organization.

To take Mr. McCabe’s place, Director Comey named Mr. Paul Abbate as the new ADIC of WFO.  Mr. Abbate has been the Special Agent in Charge of the Detroit Field Office since 2013 and most of you may know him as being the former SAC of WFO’s Counterterrorism Division.

Mr. Abbate is a tremendous person and strong advocate of community engagement.  This leadership transition is expected to take place on September 8th. We will be working to coordinate a formal meet and greet with Mr. Abbate and the CAAA in the coming months.
